Ian O'Connell

Ian O'Connell has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Ian is currently the CFO at Poolbeg Pharma plc, a position they have held since January 2021. Prior to this, Ian was with Raglan Capital, where they served as an Associate Director. In this role, they were responsible for assisting clients in achieving their strategic objectives through trade sales, IPO's, and strategic advisory services. Ian also played a key role in providing access to pre-IPO investment opportunities. Before joining Raglan Capital, Ian worked at Open Orphan Plc as the VP of Corporate Development, starting in July 2017. During their time at Deloitte & Touche, from September 2010 to June 2014, Ian was involved in corporate finance. Ian began their career at Citco Fund Services as a Pricing Specialist in July 2008.

Ian O'Connell completed their Leaving Certificate at Presentation Brothers College Cork from 2000 to 2006. Ian then attended University College Cork where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree with a focus on Finance from 2006 to 2010. Afterward, from 2010 to 2013, they pursued further education at Chartered Accountants Ireland, successfully obtaining an ACA qualification.
