Sunwoo Kim

Sunwoo Kim serves as the Director of Beyond-G Global Innovation Center since August 2024, leading the largest 10-year national research project in Korea focused on next-generation wireless communication. Kim is also a longstanding Professor in the Department of Electronic Engineering at Hanyang University since September 2005, having previously held roles as Associate and Assistant Professor. Notable visiting positions include a recent tenure at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems and past visits to institutions such as UAB and UC Santa Barbara. Kim directed the 5G/Unmanned Vehicle Research Center from 2017 to December 2022 and holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UC Santa Barbara, as well as a B.S. in Electronics Engineering from Hanyang University.
