Walter Woods

Walter Woods is the Area Director of Marketing at Hyatt Hotels Corporation, where they oversee public relations and integrated marketing for Hyatt's primary full-service hotels in Atlanta. With a passion for mission-driven storytelling, Walter has cultivated a strong professional background, including roles as Vice President at Cohn & Wolfe and Chief Communications Officer for the DeKalb County School District. Prior to their marketing career, Walter was a staff writer for both The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Atlanta Business Chronicle, earning accolades such as the National Association of Capitol Reporters and Editors’ Aubuchon Freedom of Information Award and being named the Atlanta Press Club’s “Journalist of the Year” in 2002. Walter has been recognized as a 2023 Industry Marketing Star Honoree and continues to pursue a degree in Journalism from The University of Georgia.
