Mark Bonnar

Mark Bonnar has a diverse range of work experience in the field of venture capital and clean energy. Mark is currently the Managing Partner at Climate Solutions VC, a position they have held since 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Managing Director of Southern Cross Venture Partners from 2012 onwards. In addition, Mark has been involved in various capacities with several renewable energy companies, including serving as a Non Executive Director at Hydrexia since 2020, Energus Solar since 2018, and GreenSync from 2016 to 2022. Mark has also acted as an investor and board observer for Sunman Energy, BenAn Energy Ltd., and Octillion Power Systems, starting in 2018, 2017, and 2015 respectively. Furthermore, Mark has contributed their expertise in the clean tech sector as a member of the Venture Capital sub-committee of the Australian Investment Council and as an expert panelist for the Global Cleantech 100 by Cleantech Group, beginning in 2015 and 2014 respectively.

Mark Bonnar holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Advanced Materials from Heriot-Watt University. Mark also completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Applied Physics with Semiconductor Electronics from the same university. Additionally, Mark has pursued studies in Commercial contracts at Cranfield School of Management. Mark further obtained a Diploma with distinction in Astronomy from Liverpool John Moores University.
