Basak U is a data security and compliance professional with over 10 years of experience in Information Security, Technology Security, and Compliance, complemented by a total of 16 years in information technology. Basak has held roles at prominent companies such as Turkcell, Vodafone Turkey, and Thomson Reuters, where they managed security systems, led compliance initiatives, and developed information security policies. Basak holds several certifications, including CISSP and CCSP, and has advanced degrees in Engineering Management and Ottoman History from Istanbul Technical University and Istanbul Bilgi University, respectively. Currently, Basak serves as the Data & AI Governance Manager at Hydro One.
