Gary Sutherland

Gary Sutherland is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in business development and strategic communications, currently serving as a Senior Business Development Specialist at Hydro-Québec since February 2007. In this role, Gary has held several key positions, including Director of Strategic Affairs and Stakeholder Relations for Northeast Markets and senior strategic advisor. Responsibilities have included developing business relationships, managing communication strategies, and preparing public relations materials. Gary is also a board member of the Energy Council of Canada. Prior experience includes roles at the Global Sustainable Energy Partnership, the Conference of Montreal, and the World Organisation for Animal Health, complemented by an educational background featuring a Master’s degree in International Relations from Université Laval and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Studies and French Studies from Trent University.
