Dan Sullivan

Dan Sullivan has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Dan currently holds the position of Lead Solutions Architect at Hydrolix Inc. since November 2022. Previously, they founded Sullivan Learning Group in September 2021. Before that, they worked as the Principal Data Architect at 4 Mile Analytics: A Media.Monks Company from February 2022 to September 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Principal Engineer at PEAK6 Technologies from May 2020 to February 2022.

Dan has also been involved in speaking engagements, including presenting at Google Development Groups and MLOps Meetup in 2020, and appearing on the Digital Native Podcast. Dan served as an Author at LinkedIn Learning from September 2016 to February 2022 and authored Google Cloud Certification Study Guides for Wiley from September 2018 to May 2020.

In their past roles, Dan worked as a Principal Engineer/Architect at New Relic, Inc. from February 2016 to May 2020, where they focused on machine learning, data science, and data architecture. Dan led two communities of practice on data science and machine learning, as well as scalable data. Prior to that, they served as the CTO at Microbe Analytics from January 2017 to August 2018. Dan began their career at DS Applied Technologies, where they worked as an Author, Consultant, and Speaker from an unspecified start date until December 2016.

Dan Sullivan pursued their education chronologically, starting with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science/Philosophy from Trinity College-Hartford, which they obtained from 1980 to 1984. Dan then went on to earn a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 1985 to 1987.

Dan furthered their education by obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Genetics, Bioinformatics and Computational Biology from Virginia Tech, which they completed from 2006 to 2016.

Apart from their formal education, Dan Sullivan also acquired several additional certifications. In February 2018, they became an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, through Amazon Web Services. Following that, they obtained the Google Certified Associate Cloud Engineer certification in December 2018. In October 2021, they achieved the Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect certification from Google, and further obtained the Google Cloud Certified Professional Data Engineer certification in August 2022. Most recently, in September 2022, they acquired the Google Cloud Professional Machine Learning Engineer certification from Google Cloud. Additionally, Dan obtained a certification in "Creating a Culture of Learning" from LinkedIn in February 2022.
