Tania Rocha

Tania Rocha has held a variety of roles in the software engineering and development industry since 1997. Tania began their career as a Teaching Assistant, Monitora, and Mathematics at Instituto Superior Técnico in 1997. In 2000, they took on a Research role at INESC-MN, where they designed, developed, tested, and documented a software to simulate the behavior of ferromagnetic materials and multilayered magnetic sensors. In 2007, they worked as an Assistente Editorial at Sociedade Portuguesa de Física, and in 2011 they became a Development Engineer at Find-the-link. Tania also worked as a freelance translator from 1998-2011, translating a total of 18 books from English into Portuguese, as well as some from other languages into Portuguese. From 2012-2013, Tania worked as a Software Developer - contractor at Nokia Siemens Networks and Coriant, Inc., respectively. Tania then became a Lead Engineer - Software (R&D) at Coriant, Inc. in 2013. Most recently, in 2018, Tania joined Infinera as a Staff Software Development Engineer (R&D). In this role, they developed a cross-platform module for fault management, was feature responsible for high-rate line cards, and was a team leader for optical contentionless add-drop switches and for optical switch/amplifier. Tania is currently a Senior Core Developer at UpLink, a position they have held since 2022.

Tania Rocha attended Escola Secundária de Ermesinde from 1994 to 1999 and Instituto Superior Técnico from 2000 to 2008. During their time at Instituto Superior Técnico, they obtained a Licenciatura in Physics and an Other degree in Physics and Mathematics.
