Design Lead at Hyperact

Rob Nicholson has a diverse work experience in various design roles. Rob started their career in 2005 as a 3D Computer Animator at Medcom, where they eventually became the Lead 3D Computer Animator & Motion Graphics. In 2009, they joined MyKnowledgeMap as a Digital Designer, working on web design projects. In 2012, Rob worked as a UI Designer on a contract basis at Calrec Audio, designing the UX & UI for a new mixing desk. From 2013 to 2016, they worked at PureNet as the Lead Digital Designer and later as the Creative Design Manager. Their responsibilities included responsive UX/UI design, branding, and digital marketing content. In 2016, Rob joined Wm Morrison Supermarkets Plc as the UX & Digital Creative Manager, managing the UX/UI design and UX copywriting teams. Rob then moved to Pharmacy2U Ltd in 2017 as the UX/UI Design Lead, focusing on transforming their digital experiences. From 2019 to 2020, they worked as a Contract Senior Consultant (UX/UI) at OddsMonkey, where they implemented a user-first approach and improved on-site experiences. In 2020, Rob joined Infinity Works as a Senior Consultant (UX/UI) and later became a Principal Design Consultant. In these roles, they worked on digital service transformations and supported the wider UX consultancy team. Currently, Rob is working at Accenture UK & Ireland as the Design Practice Lead, defining good execution and shaping the design and research team. In 2023, they will join Hyperact as the Design Lead.

Rob Nicholson attended Teesside University from 2002 to 2005, where they earned a 1st Class BA Hons degree in Computer Animation. In 2021, they obtained the NNg UX Certification in UX Management Specialism from Nielsen Norman Group.
