Sudarshan R.

Clinical Scientist at Hyperfine

Sudarshan R. has a diverse work experience spanning several years. Sudarshan is currently working as a Clinical Scientist at Hyperfine since March 2022. Previously, they worked at the Barrow Neurological Institute in multiple roles. From June 2020 to March 2022, they served as an Imaging Research Specialist. Prior to that, they worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow from October 2017 to June 2020.

Before joining the Barrow Neurological Institute, Sudarshan worked as a Graduate Research Associate at both the Barrow Neurological Institute and Arizona State University. During this time (May 2012 to July 2017), their research focused on advanced magnetic resonance flow imaging in the brain. Some of their research highlights include improving flow quantification analysis and investigating the accuracy of cerebrospinal fluid flow quantification using magnetic resonance imaging techniques. Sudarshan also proposed alternative approaches to phase contrast imaging in the evaluation of cerebrospinal fluid shunt patency for patients with normal pressure hydrocephalus.

Sudarshan also has experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Principles of Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Spectroscopy course at Arizona State University from January 2016 to May 2016. Their responsibilities included preparing and presenting course lectures, designing and proctoring exams, as well as grading homework and exams. Sudarshan also held regular office hours.

Prior to their graduate studies, Sudarshan worked as a Systems Support Specialist (IT) at Arizona State University from September 2011 to May 2012. Sudarshan provided technical support for the school of mathematical and statistical sciences, including troubleshooting software and hardware issues, managing lab environments, and updating lab equipment.

Sudarshan's earlier experience includes roles as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Image Processing and Applications LAB (IPALAB), a Graduate Assistant at Arizona State University, and voluntary research work at the SPASLab, Dept. of Electrical Engineering. Sudarshan also served as a Graduate Research Assistant (Data Manager) at Arizona State University, where they managed data for the Juntos Research Project and performed statistical analysis for community outreach projects.

Sudarshan R. has an impressive educational background. Sudarshan obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from Arizona State University, studying from 2012 to 2017. Prior to that, from 2010 to 2012, they completed their M.S. degree in Bioengineering from the same university. Sudarshan R. also holds a Master of Science in Engineering degree with a specialization in Electrical Engineering, which they earned from Arizona State University between 2006 and 2008.

Their undergraduate education took place at Valliammai Engineering College, where they pursued a B.E. degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from 2002 to 2006.

In addition to their formal education, Sudarshan R. has also obtained certifications in Neural Networks and Deep Learning from Coursera in January 2021 and in Julia Scientific Programming (with Honors) from Coursera in May 2020.
