John D. H. King

John D. H. King has worked in a variety of roles in the tech industry since 1998. John D. H. began their career as a Senior Software Engineer at Advanced Bionics Corp, a MiniMed spin-off company. In 2002, they became the Director of Systems Development at Prevention Concepts Inc., where they led the technical development of a patented ultrasound imaging system for carotid intima-media thickness measurement. In 2004, they joined Energy Solutions as a Project Manager and led the effort to win development contracts for Utility Solar Incentive Programs. In 2007, they co-founded Combined Power LLC, which was later rebranded to Hyperlight Energy. In this role, they invented a novel manufactured plastic concentrated solar power system and managed a cross-functional RD&D group to develop and successfully demonstrate innovative solar technology. In 2016, they joined EvoNexus (CommNexus) as a member of the Selection Committee, focusing on new clean tech companies and technologies.

John D. H. King has a long history of education. John D. H. began their studies at Caltech, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and Applied Science in 1996. John D. H. then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at UC Irvine, which they completed in 1998. Finally, in 2003, they earned a Master of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship and Technology Management from UCLA Anderson School of Management.
