Derik Stenerson has been in the tech industry since 1988. In 1989, they worked as a Configuration Test Lead, Summer Intern for PC Works 2.0 at Microsoft. The following year, they worked as a Software Tester, Summer Intern for PC Client for Mac Mail 1.37 at Microsoft and as an Assistant Systems Manager at the University of Washington, Alzheimer's Disease Research Center. In 1991, they began working at Microsoft as a Program Manager for Microsoft Learning Technologies and a Program Manager for Microsoft Exchange Server. In 1996, they co-authored iCalendar (RFC 2445) for the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). In 2001, they joined Microsoft Dynamics CRM as a Senior Program Manager Lead and later became a Principal Program Manager Lead for Microsoft Word for Mac and Microsoft Dynamics CRM. In 2010, they became a Principal Program Manager Lead for Microsoft Word and in 2016, they became a Principal Program Manager for Microsoft Search, Knowledge and AI in Microsoft 365. Currently, Derik Stenerson is a Principal Product Manager at Hyperproof, where they are responsible for bringing trust to life and helping organizations demonstrate their commitment to upholding laws, standards, and ethical conduct.
Derik Stenerson attended Redmond High School from 1983 to 1985. Derik then went on to the University of Washington, where they earned a B.A. in Business Administration, cum laude, from 1985 to 1989.
