Founder / CEO / Chief Architect at HYPERREAL®

Remington Scott has extensive experience in the field of digital animation and motion capture. REMINGTON is the founder and CEO of HYPERREAL™ since 2020, where they serve as the Chief Architect. Prior to this, they founded and served as the CEO of RSP - Remington Scott Productions from 2009 to 2020. During their time at RSP, they directed performance capture productions for major companies such as Sony Computer Entertainment of America, Activision, Square, and Avalanche. RSP has also created avatars of well-known celebrities like Leo Messi and Jackie Chan.

Remington was also a Co-Founder and the Studio Chief of Virtual Content Production at MacInnes Scott from 2015 to 2019. Their contributions to the company led to winning the Advanced Imaging Society's Lumiere Award for Best Augmented Reality Experience for Netflix's Altered Carbon global activation. REMINGTON also produced and directed VR experiences called GRACE and E.K.

Before that, Remington worked at Sony Pictures Imageworks from 2003 to 2009 as a Computer Graphic Supervisor for Special Projects. REMINGTON led the digital human team and contributed to several patents for realistic digital human animation. REMINGTON played a significant role in the facial capture pipeline for the movie WATCHMEN and directed performance capture sessions for SPIDER-MAN 3 during their tenure.

Remington's career also includes working at Weta Digital as a Motion Capture Supervisor from 2001 to 2003, where they oversaw and defined motion capture production for performance animation. Their work on THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE TWO TOWERS earned the film an Academy Award for Achievement in Visual Effects.

Additionally, Remington served as the Motion Capture Director at Square USA from 1998 to 2001. There, they worked on FINAL FANTASY: THE SPIRITS WITHIN, the first theatrically released animated film to use motion capture for all principal digital human performances. REMINGTON also worked at Pixel Generation as an Art Director, overseeing all art and design, and at Acclaim Entertainment, Inc. as an Interactive Director, responsible for digital content development.

Remington's career began in 1986 at RSP Software, where they served as the Animation Lead. REMINGTON co-created the first digitized home video game WWF: SUPERSTARS OF WRESTLING and created computer animations and graphics for video games using licenses from companies like Disney, Warner Bros., World Wrestling Federation, and Children's Television Workshop.

Throughout their career, Remington Scott has established himself as a leader and innovator in the field of digital animation and motion capture, earning recognition and accolades for their contributions.

Remington Scott attended the School of Visual Arts from 1987 to 1991, where they pursued a degree in Fine Arts with a focus on Painting. After a gap in their education, they enrolled at UCLA from 2005 to 2008. It is not specified whether they completed a degree during this period, but their field of study at UCLA was Screenwriting.
