Simon Long

Simon Long is an experienced professional in operations engineering and product management, currently serving as Team Leader of Operations Engineering at Hypertherm Associates since October 2021. Prior to this role, Simon held positions as Product Cost Manager for Jenbacher Type 6 engines at INNIO Power and GE Power from January 2017 to October 2021, following the sale of Jenbacher Gas Engines to Advent International in November 2018. Simon's earlier career includes positions as Product Specialist at GKN Walterscheid GmbH focused on agriculture driveshafts, and Value Stream Manager at GKN Aerospace overseeing manufacturing engineering for GE jet engine components. Simon began professional development in the International Leadership Development Programme at GKN, which included various project engineering and supervisory roles across international locations. Simon holds a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Aerospace Engineering from The University of Sheffield, completed in 2006.
