Michael O.

Michael O. has extensive work experience in the military, primarily in leadership roles. Michael began their career in 2005 as an Analyst in the Battalion Operations Officer role for HHB, 2-320th Field Artillery. Michael then served as the Deputy (Battalion Executive Officer) for HHB, 2-320th, and later as the Director (Brigade Rear Detachment Commander) for HHC, 1 BCT, 101st ABN (AASLT). In 2009, they became the Deputy Director (Brigade Executive Officer) for HHC, 1st BCT, 101st ABN (AASLT), and then moved on to become the Chief Operations Officer (Battalion Commander) for STT Battalion, 1st BCT, 10th MTN DIV (LI). From 2011 to 2013, they held the same role for 3-6 Field Artillery, 1/10 MTN DIV (LI). In 2013, they became the Director (Brigade Commander) for 3 BCT (P)(R), 10th MTN DIV (LI), and in 2014, they took on the role of Director (Brigade Commander) for 4th Division Artillery, 4th Infantry Division. Michael then joined the US Army as the Chief Executive Officer (Defense Coordinating Officer) FEMA Region 1 (MA, RI, VT, ME, NH, CT) in 2017, and in 2021, they began working as the Global Security Director for Hypertherm.

Michael O. has an extensive education history. In 1989, they earned their Bachelor's degree in Management from Appalachian State University. Michael furthered their education with a Master's degree in Emergency Management and Disaster Relief from Touro University in 2003-2004. In 2014-2015, Michael pursued a Masters in Strategic Studies from The United States Army War College. Michael also attended Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government in 2017 for Executive Education in Leadership in Homeland Security. In 2019, they completed the State Coordinating Officer Course at the Emergency Management Institute/FEMA and the Joint Domestic Operations Course at NORAD and USNORTHCOM J7 Training and Exercise Directorate. Lastly, in 2023, Michael plans to study Geopolitical Risk at Florida Atlantic University's College of Business. Additionally, they obtained a Scrum Master certification from LinkedIn in an unknown year.
