Olav Hellwig is a Professor at Chemnitz University of Technology and a Group Leader at Helmholtz Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf, specializing in functional magnetic materials. With over 22 years in the magnetic recording industry and 24 years in synchrotron radiation-based experiments, Olav has contributed significantly to the field with more than 60 patents and over 180 publications. They have achieved more than 8500 citations and an h-index of 47, alongside delivering over 40 invited talks at international conferences. Olav earned a PhD in Physics from Ruhr-Universität Bochum and has held various research roles at prominent organizations including IBM and Western Digital.
