Mark Hengel

Mark Hengel has extensive work experience in the software engineering field. Mark has worked as a Senior Front-end Engineer at Flowhub Cannabis Dispensary Software since April 2019, contributing to the design, estimation, planning, building, testing, and support of the company's "back off house" using technologies such as React, Redux, Sagas, Styled-components, and Koa.

Prior to that, Mark worked as a Software Engineer at i3logix, Inc. starting from July 2017. Mark played a crucial role in migrating an old EXT.js product to a new React application, utilizing Redux, Redux-Saga, and Styled-Components. Mark was responsible for planning, story creation, building, and testing of the new product.

Before i3logix, Mark worked at Placeable as a Senior Software Engineer. Mark was part of the client delivery team and involved in the full stack development of various projects. This included the development of a new core product built on expressJS/NodeJS, utilizing technologies like Handlebars for templates and Gulp for pre and post-processing build tasks. Additionally, they worked as a Software Engineer at Placeable from June 2012.

Mark's early work experience includes roles at Local Matters. Mark started as a QA Engineer in June 2005 and gradually transitioned to become a UI Engineer in December 2011. As a UI Engineer, they contributed to UI development for a New Zealand project through interface redesigns, new feature implementations, routine maintenance using technologies such as HTML, CSS, JSP/JSTL, and JavaScript. Mark also worked on a small in-house Ruby on Rails project as a UI developer, using the backbone.js framework for frontend development.
