Libby Witte has a diverse work experience in the field of geology. Libby started their career as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Saint Anthony Falls Laboratory in 2016. Later, they worked as an Americorps VISTA at STEMup Baton Rouge from 2017 to 2018. In 2019, Libby joined Freeport-McMoRan as a Geotech. Libby then worked at Corvus Gold Inc (KOR) from 2020, first as a Geotech/Junior Geologist and later as a Core Logging Geologist. In 2020, they also worked as an Underground Ore Control Geologist and Core Logger at Nevada Gold Mines. In 2021, Libby served as an Exploration Geologist at White Rock Minerals Ltd before becoming a Contract Geologist at i-80 Gold Corp from December 2021 to May 2022. Libby then transitioned to Koba Resources Limited as a Project Geologist from May 2022 to September 2022. Currently, they are back at i-80 Gold Corp as a Project Geologist.
Libby Witte attended the University of Minnesota from 2013 to 2017, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Earth Science with a focus on Geophysics. During their time at the university, they also obtained two minors, one in Statistics and the other in Religion/Religious Studies. In addition to their academic achievements, Libby Witte has obtained various certifications. In May 2017, they received the OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour certification from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Furthermore, in May 2018, they obtained the HAZWOPER 8-hour refresher certification (Version 3) from the California Department of Public Health. Libby'smost recent certification is the MSHA Surface Metal and Non-Metal (P48) obtained from the Hazard Prevention Institute, LLC in July 2019.
