Martin Krause is an experienced leader in technical cooperation and sustainable energy policy, currently serving as the Director of Technical Cooperation, Programming and Coordination at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) since June 2015. In this role, Martin oversees a team of 34 staff, focusing on policy, strategy, partnerships, and resource mobilization. Previously, Martin held the position of Director of Technical Cooperation for Europe at IAEA, collaborating with government partners in Eastern Europe and the CIS on over 200 projects related to nuclear safety, energy, and climate change. Prior experiences include leading the Global Energy Policy Team and serving as a Cluster Leader for Climate Change & Disaster Resilience at UNDP, as well as various roles at UNDP involving environmental and climate initiatives across Asia-Pacific and Eastern Europe/Central Asia. Martin holds a Master's degree in Geography and Political Sciences from Freie Universität Berlin and a Certificate in Development Policy from Deutsches Institut fuer Entwicklungspolitik.
