Prashant Maharaj

Prashant Maharaj is an Expert Lecturer at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) since October 2021, specializing in radiological and nuclear emergency preparedness and response through regional workshops. At ANSTO, where Prashant has worked since June 2005, responsibilities include coordinating radiological and nuclear emergency preparedness and response, conducting hazard assessments, and managing emergency preparedness training. Previous roles include Senior Radiation Protection Advisor at ANSTO, a Process Specialist at AstraZeneca, a Production Engineer at British American Tobacco, and a Mechanical Supervisor at Tropik Wood Industries Ltd. Prashant holds a Postgraduate Degree in Crisis/Emergency/Disaster Management from Queensland University of Technology, a Certificate in Radiation Protection from the University of Strathclyde, and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from The University of the South Pacific, among other qualifications in management and mechanical engineering.
