Heather K. has a diverse and extensive work experience. Heather began their career as an intern at Westridge School in 2003. After that, they worked as an associate at Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP from 2008 to 2010. Heather then became a C.V. Starr Teaching Fellow at Peking University School of Transnational Law from 2010 to 2011. Heather joined Kent Maynard & Associates LLC as an Associate Attorney from 2011 to 2014, where they independently managed substantial litigation cases. Heather also worked at IAPMO as a Law Clerk in their In House Legal Department for a short period in 2014. Later, they worked at Tetzlaff Law Offices as an Associate Attorney and Contract Attorney from 2014 to 2015, assisting in complex commercial cases. Currently, Heather is focused on their role at IAPMO, where they first started as a Staff Attorney in 2015, then became the Vice President and Associate General Counsel from 2016 to 2022, and is currently the Executive Vice President and General Counsel. In this role, they oversee and manages the provision of all legal services to the organization, collaborating with senior administrators and providing strategic guidance on legal issues.

Heather K. pursued their higher education at various institutions. From 1997 to 2001, they attended Westridge School for Girls, where they did not obtain a specific degree or focus of study. Following this, they enrolled at Queen's University from 2001 to 2005, where they completed their Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in English. Heather then decided to pursue a legal career and attended Columbia Law School from 2005 to 2008, earning their Juris Doctor (JD) degree in Law.
