Falk Schmidt has led teams in national and international organizations focused on sustainability, climate protection, and environmental issues since 2005. They currently serve as the Geschäftsstellenleiter of the Wissenschaftsplattform Nachhaltigkeit 2030 at IASS, a position held since 2017. Prior to this, Falk was the personal advisor to Klaus Töpfer, the founding director of IASS, and held notable roles including Academic Officer and Acting Director at UNU-IHDP from 2005 to 2010 and group leader at the Institut für transformative Nachhaltigkeitsforschung from 2015 to 2017. Falk earned a doctorate in Political Science, Philosophy, Economics, and Law from Freie Universität Berlin between 1996 and 2002.
