Solène Droy is the Head of the Research Group "International dialogues for pathways to sustainable futures" at Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies Germany. She is also the Project Coordinator of the Global Sustainability Strategy Forum. After graduating in political sciences from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques of Toulouse (SciencesPo), France, and completing her Master's degree in European Affairs from the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium, she specialised in the management of transnational scientific projects and worked for different EU organisations. Among other things, she was entrusted with the coordination of 10 EU-funded projects in the field of Social Sciences and Humanities (research funding instrument COST, European Cooperation in Science and Technology). The topics of the projects include Global Environmental Governance, Cultural Sustainability, Digital Education, Migrations and the Concept of Borders. Her current research interests are the SDGs, Global and Regional Governance and Digitalization. In addition, Solène Droy will provide scientific support to the new Sustainability Advisory Board of the State of Brandenburg.

The Institute’s central research topics are global sustainability policy and new governance models, especially with regard to democratic institutions and decision-making processes, innovative solutions for future energy systems, sustainable resource consumption, and the challenges facing our Earth system as a result of climate change and air pollution.
