John Lavis

John Lavis is an experienced professional with a diverse background in safety coordination, emergency medical services, and survey management. As a Field Representative for IATSE since February 2022, John Lavis brings expertise in industry-specific safety practices. Previously, John Lavis operated as a self-employed safety consultant from January 2004 to March 2023, focusing on accident investigations, maintaining Material Data Safety Sheets (MDSA), and managing worker's compensation paperwork on large construction sites. Additionally, John Lavis worked as a Set Medic and First Aid Coordinator for major feature films and served as a Surveyor Coordinator for the Louisiana Public Health Institute, coordinating surveyors following hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Early career roles include Paramedic at East Jefferson General Hospital and Construction Analyst for the U.S. Small Business Administration.
