Michael Barnes

Michael Barnes currently serves as the Director of Network Operations at iBASIS since June 2023. Previously, Michael held the position of Director Network Planning at Unitas Global from May 2022 to May 2023. Michael's extensive experience includes various roles at INAP, including Director of Network Planning and Director of IP Operations Architecture & Engineering, spanning nearly a decade from April 2013 to May 2022. Prior to INAP, Michael worked at Level 3 Communications as an Operations Engineer and Manager from May 2007 to April 2013 and at Broadwing Communications as a Data Services Specialist 3 from October 1999 to May 2007. Michael's career began in the US Army as a Tech Controller from November 1992 to July 1999. Academically, Michael is pursuing a Master of Science in Network Engineering at Southern Methodist University, expected to complete in December 2023, and holds additional degrees, including a Master of Science in Management Information Systems from Bellevue University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Columbia College.
