Manuel Prieto

Manuel Prieto is an accomplished nuclear safety and regulatory professional with extensive experience in the nuclear field. Currently serving as the Iberdrola WIO and Head of Corporate Independent Nuclear Safety Oversight at Iberdrola since January 2018, Manuel previously held the role of Corporate Peer Review Area Lead and WANO Representative at the World Association of Nuclear Operators from November 2014 to December 2017. Manuel's tenure at Iberdrola also includes significant positions as Head of Safety, Licensing and Regulation UK, and UK Nuclear Business Development Director, where strategic planning and oversight were critical in establishing Iberdrola as a credible nuclear player in the UK. Prior to this, Manuel served as Senior Director of Safety and Licensing at NuGeneration Ltd. and held various positions at DTN and ETS Ingenieros Telecomunicaciones, contributing to the advancement of nuclear technology and safety practices. Manuel holds a Master’s degree in Nuclear Energy and a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
