Daniel Simão

Daniel Simão is an experienced researcher currently serving as the Head of the Bayer Pharma Satellite Lab at iBET - Instituto de Biologia Experimental e Tecnológica since July 2017. Prior to this role, Daniel held positions as a Senior Researcher at the same lab and as a Post-Doc Research Fellow at ITQB-UNL, where research focused on human hepatic cell models and neural stem cell differentiation. Earlier experience includes postdoctoral research at the Institut de Génétique Moléculaire de Montpellier, optimizing gene transfer vectors, and a PhD candidacy in Bioengineering Systems as part of the MIT Portugal Program, specializing in human neural in vitro models. Daniel's academic credentials feature a PhD from Universidade Nova de Lisboa, along with a Master's in Molecular Biology and Biomedicine, and a Licentiate degree in Molecular Biology.
