Alex Stern

Alex Stern is the Senior Vice President of Strategy and M&A at IBM, where they currently lead the strategy and mergers & acquisitions organizations. Previously, Alex held various leadership roles at Lazard, including Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director of the Telecommunications and Technology Group, from 2008 to 2019. Earlier in their career, Alex worked in the Networking Systems Division at IBM from 1989 to 1992 and was associated with Apax as part of Patricof & Co. Ventures in 1996-1997. Alex obtained a Bachelor of Science from Duke University and completed both a Master of Engineering and an MBA at the University of Pennsylvania - The Wharton School.
