Andrew Walls

Andrew Walls currently serves as Manager at Great Walls of Storage since September 2024. Prior to this role, Andrew was an IBM Fellow, CTO, and Chief Architect for IBM Flash Systems, where responsibilities included defining the architecture and requirements for next-generation all-flash arrays. Andrew’s career at IBM included positions such as lead designer and chief hardware architect for the DS8000 storage system and roles focused on defining and architecting fault-tolerant hardware for high-end storage solutions. With 32 years of industry experience and over 26 years specifically in storage, Andrew is recognized for leadership in the design of advanced storage technologies. Andrew holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UC Santa Barbara, obtained in 1981.
