Aya Soffer

Aya Soffer is the Vice President of AI Technologies and the Director of IBM Research Lab in Israel. They lead the IBM Research AI organization, focusing on advancing AI capabilities in areas such as Hybrid Cloud, Security, and Healthcare. Previously, Aya worked as a Director of Information Management Analytics at IBM and a Research Associate at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. Aya's educational background includes a B.Sc. in Computer Science from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and both an MSc and PhD in Computer Science from the University of Maryland. Their research specialization is in Natural Language Understanding, with aspirations for computers to master language intricacies.
