Dr. Brad Topol is an IBM Distinguished Engineer and Director of AI and Cloud Open Technologies, currently leading the global IBM team focused on developing AI and cloud-native open source technologies. They also serve as IBM’s Chief Developer Advocate, overseeing developer advocacy initiatives and aligning them with IBM sales goals. Active in various open source communities, Brad has contributed to technologies like PyTorch, Kubernetes, and OpenTelemetry and is a governing board member of both the LF AI & Data Foundation and the Cloud Native Computing Foundation. Brad holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology and has co-authored several books on Kubernetes and OpenShift, enhancing enterprise application development and deployment strategies. Prior to their current role, they served in various distinguished capacities at IBM from 1998 to 2011.
