Chris Backer is the Global Vice President of Client Adoption, Strategy, and Growth for the IBM Z Mainframe Transaction Processing Platform portfolio, bringing over 10 years of leadership experience in enterprise mainframe application modernization and cloud-native architecture. Previously, Chris held various roles at IBM, including Director of Worldwide Technical PreSales Engineering and Global Vice President of Technical PreSales and Customer Success Management. Chris began their career at BMC Software as an IT Service Management Consultant from 2000 to 2006. They currently lead a global team of technical solution engineers focused on sales and client adoption of IBM's generative AI, hybrid cloud software, and mainframe hardware systems.
