Chris Porter is a Research Scientist at IBM, focusing on compiler optimizations for AI accelerators and confidential computing. They earned a PhD in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology, where they also completed an MS and a BS in the same field. Previously, Chris held roles as a Senior Software Engineer at Qualcomm and Pindrop, contributing significantly to modem optimization and system software respectively. They served as a Teaching Assistant for undergraduate courses in compilers and object-oriented programming, and have been involved in multiple patents and publications throughout their career.
