Eric Evarts is a Research Staff Member at IBM, where they focus on device testing and characterization for magnetic random access memory. Eric completed a PhD in Physics at Carnegie Mellon University, during which they developed a conductive atomic force microscopy technique to study magnetic tunnel junction nanopillars. They were a PREP Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Colorado and a postdoctoral fellow at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, leading research on MgO tunnel barriers in next-generation spintronic devices. Prior to their current role, Eric managed a team at IBM responsible for wafer releases and efficiency improvements in the Albany Nanotech Complex.
