Greg Nelson

Account Technical Leader - Global Sales

Greg Nelson has over three decades of experience in technical sales and engineering, with a focus on pre-sales support and system architecture. At IBM from March 2017 to April 2025, Greg held positions including Account Technical Leader for Global Sales and Strategic Accounts, and Software Client Architect. Prior to IBM, Greg worked at Oracle Corporation as a Master Principal Sales Engineer from February 2010 to March 2017, providing technical support for Verizon in Private Cloud, Big Data, IaaS, and Data Center virtualization projects. Greg’s career began at Sun Microsystems, where, from November 1994 to February 2010, responsibilities included pre-sales support for Verizon and management of partner recruitment and technical assistance. Earlier roles included Unix System Administrator at Xilinx and Systems Engineer at Sun Microsystems, where Greg supported numerous leading technical companies in Silicon Valley.
