James Smith

James Smith is a Sr. Engineer at IBM, where they are currently focused on hardware evaluation, bringup, and debug for PCIe I/O equipment, as well as electrical characterization for serial data buses and project planning. They previously worked as a Software Engineer at Systems Engineering Labs, where their role involved initial system bring-up test planning and diagnostic development. With extensive experience in firmware development and project management, James has also contributed to AIX device drivers and mainframe communication design. In addition to their professional pursuits, they have interests in machining, photography, and learning Spanish. James is a member of the IEEE and the IEEE Computer Society.
