Malcolm Beattie is an experienced IT professional with a strong background in Linux and Unix systems. Currently serving as a Linux Technical Consultant at IBM since August 2001, Malcolm has also contributed to academia as a Visiting Senior Lecturer at the University of Surrey from July 2014 to August 2024. Prior to this, Malcolm worked as a Unix Systems Programmer at Oxford University Computing Services from September 1992 to August 2001 and held the role of Perl Developer and Release Manager with perl5-porters@perl.org between 1996 and 1998. Malcolm’s educational background includes a degree from the University of Oxford, completed from 1986 to 1992.
