Mario Blaum is a retired research staff member who worked at IBM until September 30, 2021. With prior experience at Hitachi Global Storage Technologies, Mario focused on research for disk drives and channel coding. Currently, Mario serves as an academic adviser at Universidad Complutense de Madrid, providing guidance on error-correcting techniques for burst type errors. Mario holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Caltech, as well as an M.Sc. from the Technion and a Licenciado from the University of Buenos Aires.
