Mark Ritter serves as Chair of the Physical Sciences Council at IBM Research and is a distinguished research staff member and senior manager at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center, where they manage departments focused on solid state and quantum theory as well as quantum experiments. They have been a member of the Governing Board for the Quantum Economic Development Consortium since 2018. Mark completed a Ph.D. in Applied Physics at Yale University, where they also earned both a Master of Philosophy and a Master of Science in the same field, and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Montana State University-Bozeman.
