Michael Nidd is a Staff Research Scientist and Master Inventor at IBM Research, where they have been focused on applying AI to IT Operations Support and network device failure prediction since 2015. Prior to joining IBM in 1998, Michael served as a Research Associate at the University of Waterloo from 1995 to 1998. Michael holds a Bachelor of Mathematics in Computer Science with a minor in Physics and a Master of Mathematics in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, as well as a doctorate in Computer Networking from EPFL. Throughout their career, Michael has contributed to significant projects, including IBM's Cloud Pak for AIOps and has been involved in pivotal developments within the Bluetooth Special Interest Group.
