Paul Shaw

Paul Shaw is a Senior Technical Staff Member and Constraint Programming Lead at IBM, where they head the development of CP Optimizer, focusing on innovation, speed, quality, and robustness in combinatorial optimization. With over twenty years of experience, Paul has pioneered hybrid search technology and achieved significant results in vehicle routing and bin packing. Paul's career includes roles as a Research Assistant at Strathclyde University and a Principal Scientist at ILOG, where they contributed to vehicle scheduling and iterative improvement methods. Paul obtained a BSc (Hons) and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Strathclyde.
