Pin-Yu Chen

Pin-Yu Chen is a Principal Research Scientist at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center and serves as the Chief Scientist for the RPI-IBM AI Research Collaboration Program, along with being the Principal Investigator at the MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab. Their research focuses on machine learning, particularly in areas such as AI robustness and graph data analytics. They held positions at IBM as a Research Staff Member and Research Scientist, contributing to significant projects in trustworthy AI and adversarial machine learning. Pin-Yu earned a PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Michigan, where they also conducted research in graph mining techniques. They have been recognized as an IEEE Fellow and an IJCAI Computers & Thought Awardee.
