Raphael Sgier is a highly experienced researcher and AI engineer with a strong academic background in physics and theoretical cosmology. Sgier served as a Research Scientist at ETH Zürich from September 2016 to September 2021, focusing on fundamental research that combines theory, observation, and computational implementation, including statistical analyses of large datasets on high-performance computing clusters. Prior to this, Sgier worked as a Research Fellow at Stanford University, developing mathematical models of the universe and extending the Effective Field Theory of Large-Scale Structure. In recent roles at IBM, Sgier contributed as an AI Engineer and later as a Senior AI Engineer, leading a team to develop advanced AI solutions for Fortune Global 500 companies. Sgier holds a Doctorate in Physics from ETH Zürich and Master’s degrees from Stanford University and ETH Zürich, complemented by a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from ETH Zürich.
