Sara E. Berger, PhD, is a researcher, ethicist, director, neuroscientist, and AI practitioner with over 15 years of experience in translational pain research, emphasizing neuroimaging and machine learning techniques. Currently serving as the Director of the Notre Dame-IBM Tech Ethics Lab, they apply a multidisciplinary approach to address the ethical and sociotechnical challenges at the intersection of neuroscience and AI. Sara holds a PhD in Neuroscience from Northwestern University and a Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience from Macalester College.
