Thomas Parnell

Thomas Parnell is a Principal Research Scientist at IBM, where they lead a global research team focused on optimizing the inference of large language models on modern computing systems. Previously, Thomas served as a Senior Research Scientist at IBM, developing Snap ML, a widely downloaded software library for accelerated machine learning. They also held the position of Chief Technical Officer at Siglead Europe, co-founding the R&D base in the UK while pursuing a Ph.D. in Mathematics at the University of Warwick, where they completed both their BSc and PhD degrees. Their earlier experience includes working as an Engineer at Arithmatica, specializing in hardware design and signal processing.
