Tim Block is a retired Senior Technical Staff Member from IBM, where they worked from 1982 to 2023. During their tenure, they contributed to POWER Hypervisor Development and co-invented 37 patents and 16 technical disclosures in the fields of optical communications, networking, and security. Prior to this role, Tim served as a Senior Engineer, specializing in laser and optical link development, and co-authored multiple publications on optical communications. Tim holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics/Math from Carroll University and a Master of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Northwestern University. Tim is also a certified CISSP, CEH, and a Minnesota Master Naturalist.
