William O'Farrell

William O'Farrell is a Senior Technical Manager for Go on z/OS at IBM, where they focus on optimizing cryptography for the next generation of z hardware and lead a project at the IBM Centre for Advanced Studies. With a background that includes teaching graduate and undergraduate courses at Syracuse University, William has developed expertise across various technological areas, including programming languages and systems. They were instrumental in porting the Go language to the Linux on z platform and have significantly contributed to the development of compilers and other software solutions at IBM. William is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science in Computer Science at Queen's University.
