Robert Murphy has a diverse and extensive work experience in the engineering field. Robert currently holds the position of VP of Engineering at IC Manage since 2021. Prior to this, they were the owner of Firenza, LLC for nearly 18 years, where they provided IC Design, Debug, and Repair Services with a focus on Memory IP and Processors. Robert has over 42 years of experience in various technologies and was involved in designing Memory IP for processors operating above 9 GHz.

Before their entrepreneurial venture, Robert worked at SGI as Director of Engineering from 1993 to 1998, where they managed circuit design, layout, and chip implementation of a major microprocessor. Robert also managed the chip implementation schedule and chip circuit design methodology.

From 1991 to 1993, they served as the Director of Engineering at Weitek Corp., responsible for managing chip circuit design, layout, and implementation, as well as staffing and administration of the department.

Prior to that, Robert worked at National Semiconductor as a Design Manager from 1983 to 1991, at RCA as a Program Manager SRAMs from 1982 to 1983, and at National Semiconductor again as an SRAM Design Manager from 1978 to 1982.

Their early career was at Hughes Aircraft Company as an MTS from 1974 to 1978.

Robert Murphy obtained a Bachelor of Science in Electronics from Drexel University, which they pursued from 1969 to 1974. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science in Solid State Electronics at UCLA between 1974 and 1976.
