Michael Tope has a diverse work history spanning multiple industries. Michael is currently the Chief Executive Officer at iCabbi, a position they have held since January 2023. Prior to this role, they served as the Chief Strategy Officer & Director from June 2018 to April 2023. From July 2015 to June 2018, they were the Managing Director at iCabbi.

Before joining iCabbi, Michael had experience in academia, working as a lecturer at IBAT College Dublin and Griffith College Ireland from February 2014 to July 2015 and from January 2015 to June 2015, respectively. Michael also pursued their Ph.D. at Dublin City University, specializing in researching informal (angel) investors, and completed their PhD proposal from June 2013 to September 2013.

Additionally, Michael undertook full-time study for an MBA at the University of Wales from February 2012 to January 2013 and worked at Mitel as Director R&D and Operations (Dublin) from November 2009 to December 2011. Prior to that, they held various roles at LAKE Communications Ltd., including Operations & Projects Director from September 1998 to November 2009, and Quality Director from March 1994 to September 1998. Michael also served as a Quality Manager at LAKE Communications Ltd. from May 1992 to March 1994 and Ladnis & Gyr from January 1988 to May 1992.

Michael Tope began their education at Atlantic College from 1976 to 1978, where they obtained a PMG degree in Telecommunications. Michael later attended Crosby College London from 1989 to 1990 and studied Total Quality Management. In 1990 to 1991, they pursued a Diploma in Management from the Irish Management Institute, and the following year, they continued their studies at the same institute focusing on Management. From 2012 to 2013, Michael completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Early Stage Frims at the University of Wales. Lastly, they attended Dublin City University from 2013 to 2016 and worked towards a PhD in Informal (Angel) Investment, Start-ups, Innovation, and Public Service Procurement.
