Dr. Darcella P.

Dr. Darcella P. serves as the Vice President of the City Council and Councilwoman for the 2nd Ward in Plainfield since January 2024. With extensive experience at the New Jersey Department of Corrections since September 2004, Dr. Darcella has held roles including Chief of Programs and Reintegration and Assistant Commissioner, overseeing a large staff and significant budgets while managing state inmate rehabilitative programs. Additionally, Dr. Darcella is the President and CEO of Sessomes and Associates LLC and has held various teaching positions at multiple universities, including Montclair State University, Kean University, and the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Darcella earned a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary, a Doctorate of Clinical Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania, and a BA in MSW from Rutgers University.
